Tom Sawyer is a 14 inches tall all porcelain doll from the Childhood Classics II series of dolls created by acclaimed American doll artist, Wendy Lawton. Just the name "Tom Sawyer" calls to mind the refreshing coolness of the old swimming hole, the fragrance of strawberries melting on the vine and the delicious anticipation of rafting down the old Mississippi. Perhaps no other book characterizes childhood's ebullience better than Mark Twain's classic.This doll is limited to an edition of 500.Tom has blond hair, blue eyes and freckles. He wears a straw hat, and one toe is bandaged. He's barefoot, and comes with a rustic wood bucket of white paint and a big old fashioned paint brush (not shown in photo) already dabbed in paint, so he's ready to whitewash. His accessories visually tell his story so well, but have been kept mint in his box with the doll we are offering. Wendy Lawton combined her natural interests in literature and art in her doll-making.
