The concept for Bonikka dolls came out of a family tradition which began more than 100 years ago, with the gift of a doll from a Sri Lankan great grandfather to a cherished great grand daughter. With each Bonikka purchase a portion of the sale helps subsidize expenses of a girls' child development center in Sri Lanka and provides each girl with a Bonikka doll of her own.
