For the Squire is a piece inspired by the John Everett Millais 1882 painting. She is costumed in a hand dyed and hand painted cotton outfit, wears a silk hat, glass beads, and ports leather boots. She is made of ShellCloth, a technique and process developed by the artist herself and very characteristic. This doll has a cloth body and head and finest mohair hand-sewn wig. Her eyes are hand painted and glazed with real eyelashes. Buttons on the costume are either genuine antique Mother of Pearl or Boer War Brass. The size of this doll is 29 inches, and she was produced in a limited edition of 6. The hand made nature and ShellCloth process ensure that the doll itself is virtually a one of a kind, dressed in a limited edition costume.
