Odelle is the flamboyant and spirited Black Swan from one of the most recollected ballets of all time, Swan Lake. This piece was produced in a very limited edition of only 25 by Nancy Wiley, who drew inspiration for this piece, as well as the matched Odette, the White Swan from Swan Lake, from the paintings and sculptures of Degas. The medium of paperclay allows this artist to capture the sense of a painting, drawing upon her classical training and incorporating the subtle aspects of light and shadow to create the appropriate mood.This ballerina has a skirt of silk tulle and her bodice is decorated with small feathers. This particular piece is #3 of the small edition. She stands approximately 21 inches tall.
