Penny is a one of a kind dressed lifesize chuckling baby. Dressed in cottons and silk, this happy baby is an art doll by English doll artist Linda Murray for doll maker Linda Murray Cloth Dolls. Penny is made of ShellCloth, a medium developed by the artist herself and characteristic of her doll art. Baby Penny is 30 inches. Penny was produced in a limited edition of 75. Due to the unique creation process, each of Linda Murray's dolls are virtually one of a kind pieces. Only one mold is ever made from the original sculpture, and that mold can only produce one head per week. This piece can technically therefore be considered a one of a kind, as even the costume here is unique. Penny has a cloth body and head and the finest mohair hand-sewn wig. Her eyes are hand painted and glazed with real eyelashes. Where buttons are used they are either genuine antique Mother of pearl or Boer War Brass.
