Inspired by a turn of the century photograph in the Philadelphia Girl, English doll artist Linda Murray has captured an historically real, beautiful black girl, and has captured this little girl's tremendous character and presence. Her looks, pose and dress faithfully mimic the photograph. The medium is the artist's unique ShellCloth, a technique the artist herself developed and which allows her to create exquisite, realistic and very characteristic doll art. Philadelphia Girl is 32 inches and was created in a limited edition of 20. The hand made nature and the ShellCloth process ensure that each doll is a one of a kind, faithful to the photograph and dressed in a limited edition costume.
